Mark Wayne Salling (born August 17, 1982) is an actor and a trained musician.

He plays Noah "Puck" Puckerman on Fox's comedy, Glee. Salling was raised in Dallas, Texas, where he graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 2001.

He later attended the Los Angeles Music Academy. Music career Salling sings, writes, and plays guitar in a solo project under the stage name "Jericho", whose debut album, Smoke Signals , was released in 2008. He sang a cover version of Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" on an episode of Glee.

Mark Salling is a musician/actor most known for rounding out the most-versatile cast to hit the 2009 Fall TV line-up, as badboy “Noah Puckerman,” “Puck” on FOX’s “Glee. Always a songwriter first and at heart, Salling recently released his debut solo album “Smoke Signals” under the pseudonym Jericho.

A jack-of-all-trades, Salling plays guitar, piano, bass and drums while writing, producing and singing lead vocals on all his tracks and even lending his original songs to other artists such as Josh Green and Danielle McKee.

A sound unlike any other, Salling’s music is an eclectic blend of indie and alternative rock, with the timelessness of Radiohead, and the pop sensibility of Coldplay. Drawing much of his inspiration from musical groundbreakers as Thom Yorke and Trent Reznor, Salling has committed to a lifestyle of perfecting his primary passion, branching out into all genres, jazz, country, rock, pop and even hip-hop. Salling, a native of the lone star state left Dallas, Texas with nothing but a suitcase and guitar, moved to Tinsletown, hoping to catch a break and make it on talent alone.

But as with most who head out west, the beginning was slow-going—he attended the Los Angeles Music Academy in Pasadena, CA and got a job teaching guitar lessons .

A career years in the making, and five agonizing auditions for “Glee” later, Salling booked the role of “Puck,” the hardcore jock wired with showtunes, beating out several well-known actors for the part.

When he’s not filming the show, Salling can almost always be found behind a guitar or set of keys. Additionally, he enjoys playing basketball, frisbee golf and lifting weights while remaining active in his love of birds and wildlife by volunteering with the James Hunter Wildlife Rescue charity. He enjoys jazz nights at local Hollywood bars and always makes sure there is time left over for his beloved Blue Heeler, “Hank.”

PUCK'S BACKSTORY: Puck's dad is a "dead beat" and he doesn't want to be that way. Puck is also Jewish, although his mom appears to be somewhat secular, as their holiday tradition consists of watching Schindler's List and eating Chinese food.

Noah 'Puck' Puckerman is an arrogant football player and a bully. He is teammates and best friends with Finn Hudson. He disapproves of his friend joining the Glee Club – which he sees as particularly cissy.

Even though he's a classic jock, he keeps getting dragged into the world of Glee. As well as Finn being involved with the group, he soon gets involved with another, surprising member of Glee.

He also has a secret that he has to keep from his best friend at all costs – which will eventually lead to drama. Noah most often referred to as Puck is a Jewish and Football player in McKinley High. He is described as a "Chick Magnet" and a bit of a Player.

He is considered the bad boy and sometimes not taken seriously. He is not happy when Finn joins the glee club however he later joins Will's all-male acapella group, the Acafellas, hoping to impress the mothers at the school's PTA meeting, as he prefers older women.

He later discovers that he is the father of Quinn's baby, and that the baby was conceived during the time she was dating his best friend Finn. Puck is willing to stand by Quinn and support her by which he believes he is doing the "right thing" this shows us that he is in fact a good person although he has made many mistakes and he believes strongly in family views. She rejects him calling him a "Lima loser".

Later in the same episode, Puck joins the glee club. In "Mash-Up", Puck begins dating Rachel after his mother urges him to find a Jewish girlfriend and he has a dream about Rachel which he believes is a message from God.

Rachel is the only one who calls Puck by his name Noah and we see him acting like a gentleman towards her. However later Rachel tells Puck that its not working, Puck is hurt by this and realises that Rachel is still conflicted over her feelings for Finn.

Rachel tells Puck that he obviously still had feelings for Quinn, but despite this, Puck still displays to care for Rachel in further episodes.

In the episode "Ballad", Puck confesses to Mercedes that he is the father of Quinn's baby, and she warns him against revealing the truth, as it could hurt everyone, not just Finn and Quinn.

In "Hairography," Quinn briefly wonders whether she should raise her baby with Puck and invites him to help her babysit the three rambunctious sons of Terri's sister Kendra. Quinn admires the way Puck handles the situation, but is later irritated to learn that he was "sexting" Santana throughout the night.

Puck tells Quinn that he would be a good father to the baby and a good boyfriend to her, but could not be expected to remain monogamous if Quinn continued to refuse him sex.

She returns to her original plan of giving the baby to the Schuesters. In Sectionals when Rachel reveals that Puck is the true father, Finn angrily attacks Puck and demands the truth, without any other option, Quinn admits the truth, causing Finn to cry out that he was not only done with them, but with Glee as well.

Puck then goes to a heartbroken Quinn, offering his support as the true and official father.Quinn thanks him, but says no, and that she would rather do the pregnancy on her own.

Later when Finn returns to the Glee Club, he makes it clear that he does not forgive Puck or Quinn.
